As women who profess poverty, chastity, and obedience within the Order of Preachers, the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois embrace the mission of Jesus in our time and place. Attentive to God’s presence continually revealed in the world around us, they strive to live and spread the Gospel today and to deepen our relationship with God. In the spirit of St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena, they choose to live with one another as they contemplate, celebrate and proclaim God’s Word.
Death Penalty Statement
We, the Springfield Dominicans, recognize and respect the dignity of all persons and seek to end all forms of violence in our lives and in our world. We, therefore, seek the abolition of the death penalty.
